Build Sovereign Digital Ecosystems – Seamless, Secure, and Scalable with FACIS
FACIS invites developers to actively help shape a federated multi-provider cloud infrastructure in Europe – openly, collaboratively, and hands-on. Get involved in developing and integrating a truly European multi-cloud system.
FACIS is part of the open-source Eclipse XFSC project. At its core, Eclipse XFSC is a toolbox of software tools that helps different organizations connect and share data securely and fairly, without relying on one central system. It includes:
- Building blocks for identity checks, trust, data rules;
- Easy-to-use tools so that these networks – called federations – can actually work in real life; and
- An Orchestration Engine (ORCE).
These are exactly the kinds of tools needed to realize a resilient, collaborative, and interoperable multi-provider cloud in Europe — the core mission of FACIS.
Why join us?
FACIS and XFSC are committed to fostering an inclusive and dynamic community. Whether you’re a developer, researcher, or enthusiast, your contributions can make a difference. Let’s shape the future of federated digital ecosystems together! Now is the time to bring FACIS to life — and you can play a key role. Here’s how to get involved:
Shape specifications through real-world input.
Share your organization’s requirements, challenges, and ideas to help define practical standards for multi-provider cloud systems. The more concrete the input, the more adaptable and effective the resulting tools become.
Build and extend with open source.
Use and contribute to open-source modules, templates, and code to develop, test, and scale federated multi-cloud environments. This includes tools like Federation Architecture Patterns (FAPs) and a Digital Contracting Services tool based on European Unique Identifiers (EUIDs).
Strengthen a growing community.
Join a vibrant Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) ecosystem committed to trust, security, interoperability, and sustainable innovation in European digital infrastructure.
How to get involved
As a community-driven initiative, there are several ways you can get involved and help shape the future of federated digital infrastructure.
